Product Engineer – Toys and Games – Gdańsk

For our client – an international games and entertainment company developing and distributing globally recognised board and card games in cooperation with leading global licensors and entertainment brands – we are looking for a

Product Specialist to join the Sourcing and Product Engineering department. To assist the head manager in product specification, product engineering and tooling advisory, product pricing, etc.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage and update product specification template
  • Work with PD to raise product specifications for each project
  • Check and verify the product specification before sending it out to suppliers
  • Discuss and confirm the product specification is correct for production and inspection
  • Work between PD and factory on all product development in terms of engineering and tooling
  • Verify and approve the 3D drawings from suppliers in terms of engineering and quality
  • Work with QA for all kinds of engineering design that relate to quality (e.g. safety)
  • Prepare RFQ and quote for specific projects that are more involved in engineering design.
  • Work with PM or PD for all kinds of technical issues.

Description: The role will be Poland-based, and there may be some requirement for travel to our manufacturing sites in China, Europe, the USA and Asia.

Essential experience, skills and requirements:

  • 3-5 year experience in product engineering, particularly in the printing and plastic industry (e.g. Board Game or Toys)
  • Good knowledge and experience in preparing and managing product specifications
  • Knowledge of 3D drawing is essential (e.g. Rhinoceros 3D -STP file)
  • Experience in plastic injection tooling is an advantage
  • Experience in liaising with Far East suppliers is preferable
  • Good IT skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Good communication and organisational skills
